Promoting Health, Safety and Equity
To promote the health and wellbeing of people who use drugs by developing, implementing and evaluating innovative harm reduction interventions.
We see a future where people who use drugs do not need to fear discrimination and violence. In this future no one will die from drug use because the supply will be safer and harm reduction will be widely practiced.
Inclusion
We will create an environment that embraces differences and allows individuals to be their entire, authentic selves and communicate openly. We do not exclude anyone on the basis of age, race, ability, orientation, socioeconomic status, participation in stigmatized activities, or history of incarceration.
Compassion
We are empathetic to the diverse challenges faced by everyone we meet. We understand that these challenges shape the lives and behaviors of all individuals and let that understanding guide our interactions.
Care
We will support the physical and emotional needs of our employees, volunteers, study participants, and communities by allowing them to do what they need to care for themselves. We understand that our work is challenging and that individuals have limitations and must balance our mission with physical and emotional health.
Connection
We are committed to creating lasting connections with community members, researchers, and harm reductionists locally, nationally and internationally as a means to support health and safety.
Ethical Conduct
We will work according to ethical standards to ensure equity, transparency and trust within and outside of our team.
